THREE LIFE LESSONS FROM THE TEMPEST, BY WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE

William Shakespeare was truly one of the most influential men of the 17th century. His plays, tragedies, and comedies are an inspiration to us to date.

Today I bring the three life lessons that I learned from The Tempest, which is one of the last plays by Shakespeare. It is also considered Shakespeare’s most “magical work”.

Here they are-

First,  Never betray the ones who try to help you. This is in reference to Caliban who was half-human and monster and the only son of the witch Sycorax. Caliban was never loyal to Prospero, his master. Prospero gave Caliban a second life, educated him, fed him and also took care of him but Caliban did not seem to appreciate any of these. Instead, he always plotted to harm Prospero and thwart his missions. However Prospero never punished Caliban but when Caliban crossed all limits by trying to kill him with the help of Stephano and Trinculo, he had enough.

He punished Caliban extremely harshly which had a life-long impact on him. From this, we all learn not to trouble good people to such an extent that they forget their kindness and empathy.

Second, Always respect the work people do to help you.

One of my favourite bonds in the play is that of Prospero and Ariel. Although Ariel was Prospero’s slave he never treated her like one. Prospero always made sure to acknowledge and appreciate Ariel and had also promised to set her free after his mission was completed. His mission would be incomplete if Ariel did not help him execute it.

Prospero’s constant care and love towards Ariel made her the most loyal servant to Prospero.

Third, Always prefer your reason over retaliation. Prospero’s change of heart at the end of the play is an example of a selfless good deed that will be remembered by all.

If Prospero wanted he could have killed or imprisoned  King Alonso and his men but decided to drop his plan as he did not want to cause any more trouble in their lives. He choose kindness and partly it was because of his daughter as she was all set to be the Queen Of Naples as the daughter-in-law of Alonso. Prospero even being wronged terribly did not forget to take back what he deserved, this is what I admired the most about him.

He forgave his treacherous brother Antonio and his accomplice Sebastian but he also took back what was rightfully his, the dukedom of Milan.

How To Make Reels?- The most happening feature of Instagram.

HOW TO MAKE REELS ? :  Simple steps to make Instagram reels for beginners

Reels are the newest and the most happening feature of Instagram now days. It is their take on the popular TikTok which was banned in India last year.  Reels are basically short multi-clip videos that can be recorded up to 30 seconds with audio, effects and new creative tools.

According to Instagram, “reels in Explore offers anyone the chance to become a creator on Instagram and reach new audiences on a global stage.”

So, lets learn how to make the most happening feature of Instagram. Below are the simple five steps to make reels on Instagram :

  • You must download the Instagram app from the App Store or the Play Store. All those who have Instagram in order to use reels you must update your Instagram app to the latest version.  Then scroll down 4-5 times in the search section until you see the reels option.
STEP 1
  • Then you have to click the Instagram stories camera and select the reels option and then select an audio which can be a popular song or an original audio of another user. You can also use your original audio by simply recording the video.  If you are using a song you can also select a specific part of the song to use in the reel.

Note: If you have a public account your audio can be used by other users.

STEP 2
  • After selecting the audio, you have to record the reel by pressing the capture button it has to be  up to 30 seconds maximum or you can also use any video from your gallery which is 15-30 seconds long.  Reels can be recorded in a series of clips one at a time or all at once, or by using video uploads from your gallery. If you are recording you can select Instagram effects for the video like done in stories.   You can use GIF’S or stickers or hashtags and text on the reel. Also if you want the text only to appear at the beginning or at the end of the video you have to set the slider so that it only covers the first few seconds of the video or the last few seconds of the videos.  After recording the video or adding it, you have to click “preview”.
STEP 3
  • After you click preview your whole reel along with the audio will show and you can add a caption, hashtags of your choice and edit the video thumbnail.  You can also add a cover of your choice from the camera roll and tag your friends and family.
STEP 4
  • The last thing you have to do is select where you want to share the reel. If you have a public account the reel can be shared in a dedicated space in Explore, where it has the chance to be seen and discovered by the wider Instagram community. You can also share your reel with your followers by posting it to your feed where it will appear under the new reels section.  When someone views you reels, they can see the song , hashtags and effects you have used in the reel. But if you have private account , reels will only be shared to your feed and your audio will not be shareable with users who don’t follow you.
STEP 5

HUMANITY AND THE COVID-19 CRISIS

The world is at standstill. It seems that everything is nearing its end. But still at this this time of crisis there is something that is giving us hope every morning and is motivating us to look forward to the day, and is Humanity

Yes, “Humanity” is binding us all together at this situation. The novel corona virus had originated from Wuhan city in China. This was an unknown virus according to the reports. When it started to spread, only it’s symptoms could be identified and apparently, its source were bats. After two or three months it started to spread like wildfire across all countries especially at that time in China. It soon became a world crisis and a war between life and death.

Many people are still struggling with this virus, throughout the world. They all have their families, children, mothers who are waiting eagerly with open arms for them to comeback. Those families who have already lost their loved ones have lost their faith and trust in the world. But still there are people like doctors, nurses, pilots, policemen, who are not worried about themselves or their families but are bent on saving other families and the world from this deadly virus. All caste, creed, religion, social prejudices are nothing now.

These petty things now are long forgotten, as now the world has come together and have become ONE. The world is still fighting this deadly virus. This virus is extremely contagious and can spread rapidly, it becomes especially dangerous when it starts to spread community by community.  Due to this mostly all countries are observing a complete lockdown for a certain number of days as that is the only way to combat the virus as of now. This virus has no specific treatment yet. All the citizens are asked not to leave their houses, stay clean and take all the required steps to stop the spread of this contagious virus.

The government, the hospitals, the doctors are trying their best and we all should try to give our best by just cooperating with them. Before taking any wrong step, we should think about the thousands who have lost their lives and loved ones and of those who are still fighting a battle to win over this virus.

This virus has definitely taught us to enjoy each and every moment and not to take anything for granted as we do not know what the world has in store for us the next morning.

But as of now, let us all wait for that morning when finally, we have won the battle against this deadly virus. Till then let humanity prevail and let humans help humans by just cooperating with each other, as this shall too pass and humanity will win once again, against all odds.

The World is a Stage: My Theatre Experience

The World is A Stage…

I firmly agree to this statement. Even those people who don’t like acting or theatre . I mean to talk about the people who are very shy and feel nervous to act in front of a big audience.

But they’re quite good when it comes to bunk something, or refuse something. So I think the quotation mentioned above has a fruitful meaning. People may say like” I really don’t know what is theatre “Acting? Oh god make me do anything but acting “. These are the dialogues I keep on hearing in my school and any public place, when people are offered to act.

But what people don’t understand is that when they are saying those words itself, to the third person, they’re adding a sense of humor to it. They know pretty well that they can talk in the same way, in the stage.

I was also like that. But I started to learn theatre few months ago. I realized then, whether I acted in a stage or not, I used to act in home , school, and almost everywhere I used to go. I learnt that theatre is not only about performing in stage, it is also about building a self confidence among one individual.

Theatre has taught me how to express my self and discover myself. It has made me a better person.

The World of Illusion

‘I like coffee ,because it gives me the illusion I might  be awake’

‘Difference between illusion and magic

Illusion::  When something seems real but it is not ,it is known as illusion.

Magic: The power of making something invisible, using super natural powers

My visit to an Illusion Show

On a rainy evening ,I was very excited because I  was going to attend my first illusion show.I h ad no clue what illusion is all about and so I was eagerly waiting for the evening to arrive. It took place in a hotel called Orion West Willow.
The Illusion Show was performed by a well-known city illusionist, Nilesh Kasat. That evening he really amazed us by his sense of illusion. He showed us tricks with various things such as Pencils, glasses, newspapers, board games, etc…I was really amazed and stunned by his performance. I never really thought that illusion shows could be so interesting . I was really happy attending that show and I am looking forward to more illusion shows.

My Experiences in Riding

Riding is the only sport where your equipment can choose not to cooperate with you. When I started riding at the age of ten, I had never imagined that this was the sport which I would fall for.

How it All Began

I remember my first day, when I had vowed that I would never sit on a horse again in my life. First of all, I was extremely scared of the horses long furry tail, which seemed to swing right and left, wherever he went. I was told that there was nothing to be sacred of the horse would not do anything, but I found the same hard to believe. As the horse started to move, I gave such a loud shriek that I almost made all the other horses in the stable jump.

It took me a little time to adjust with the horses and get to know them. One thing I learnt , It is you must always talk to the horse and it should always listen to you and move.

I participated in my first equestrian show in 2016. I felt it to be the greatest achievement of my life. I was surprised that I was so scared only a few days ago but I was now capable of controlling it. I took part in the class event and the junior race. I managed to come third in my class event  and first in the junior race. That was my first prize in riding and I always keep the medal with me whenever I go to Riding or any competition .

The Adrenaline Rush

I was soon promoted to the horse class, where I learnt more new things. I learnt how to jump, canter and many more tricks. I participated in The Gymkhana tournament ,where I was again placed first. In gymkhana I participated in a game called ball and bucket race. I
remember how I struggled to put the ball on the bucket . I had managed to put it once, but the horses tail dropped the bucket. That is why I was always scared of the tail of a horse. But  I still managed to come third in that event.

Last month I took  part in my third annual equestrian show. I took part in Ladys hacks and the hat game. The horse played up with me very badly in  the ladys hack. It started to jump and put his legs up and down, trying his best to make me fall. But I held on to the reins and his hair tightly, so that I wouldn’t fall. I came fourth in that event. In the next event I came second . We had to put our hat on the pole, I did it perfectly in all the rounds except the last round. Seeing the other rider very far I put the hat very casually on the pole, but it was just still for one second and then it fell down, which caused me
to come second. That taught me even when you are close to the finishing line do not be casual – concentrate and win the race!

I used to be scared of many things such as swimming , height etc . After riding , I can very proudly say, that there isn’t a single thing in the world which I am scared of or I cannot do.

5 Things I Learnt from Rakshit Tandon Workshop

Friday morning, the middle school assembled for a special event. It was hosted by Mr. Rakshit Tandon. He explained us how to use a mobile phone.

The main topic of this event was about social media. He told us that being on social media is good, but we must also be very careful. We all have heard about the dangerous cases taking place all over the world, due to social media. So, what did he tell us? Here are the 5 things I learnt from him.

Never follow unknown people….

He told us that we must never follow unknown people. We must always keep our account private.
5 things I learnt..
We got to know that in snapchat nothing gets deleted. We must never add unknown people.
He told us there was never a game called blue whale it was just a challenge to see how people could be fooled in social media.
He told as that we should never go in any social media before 13, as it can be dangerous.
He also told us that if we follow any famous person, we must see that it has the blue tick.

GAMES..
He told we must never be addicted to any games. Instead pf playing games in phone we should play real games.

CYBER BULLYING..
We were told that if we had any rivalry with any one we should never cyber bully anyone. We should instead go and solve the matter personally.
